An ideal candidate for nose correction

Nose job , known in medical circles as rhinoplasty, is one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures. The goal of rhinoplasty is to achieve harmony between the face and the nose. Changes are visible immediately after the surgery, but for the healing process to be complete and the swelling to subside completely, it is necessary to wait up to a year after the procedure. The more extensive the procedure, the longer it is necessary to wait for full recovery, which in some cases means up to two years.

Who is the ideal candidate for nose surgery?

Expectations are an important element in making a good candidate for the procedure. Candidates for nose surgery simply want to improve the appearance of their nose, but they are not looking for perfection. They are also balanced people who are happy with their lives and do not expect rhinoplasty to transform them into a different person.

What can be operated on the nose?

Rhinoplasty will not completely change a person’s appearance or drastically change their life. People with extremely high expectations may be disappointed with the results of the procedure and may even sink into depression. A good candidate for rhinoplasty is anyone who is dissatisfied with their nose, whether from birth, due to injury or aging. If you do not like your nose, for example, if it is too large in relation to the rest of your face, too wide when viewed in profile, has a visible hump when viewed from the side, or is causing you problems with your sinuses or breathing – then you are a potential candidate for the procedure.

A candidate for rhinoplasty should be an adult or minor over the age of 16, although surgery is usually delayed until adulthood when full growth is expected. Candidates should be in good health, both physically and mentally, and their expectations should be realistic.

Consultations are the most important item and the first step of every procedure.

Before the consultation itself, patients should have some ideas about how they want their nose to look, and during the consultation, their expectations should be discussed in detail. Based on this, at the Bagatin Polyclinic, we will perform an examination with the VECTRA XT 3D photosimulator, which allows for a realistic display of a 3D simulation on the face of our clients, which will give us the opportunity to show them how they might look after the procedure. So, you will have the opportunity to see what your nose will look like after the surgery and recovery already during the consultation.

Today, the approach to rhinoplasty is different than it was before, and the nose is not viewed in isolation, but rather attempts are made to bring it into an optimal relationship with existing facial structures, such as the cheeks, lips, chin, and forehead. Considering all of the above, the goal of cosmetic nose surgery at the Bagatin Polyclinic is not to get a “new face”, but to reshape the nose to fit it into normal relationships with other parts of the face.

If you would like to have all the information about nose correction at our Polyclinic, book a consultation where you can learn everything about preoperative preparation, VECTRA XT 3D consultations with the doctor, methods used during the surgery – such as open approach or closed approach, the postoperative period and precautions.

If you are thinking about nose correction and have additional questions about the procedure itself in our Polyclinic or want to book a consultation, you can contact us by phone at 01/46 10 225 or by email at info@bagatin.hr.
