Laser spider vein removal

Visible capillaries on the face and body bother almost 90% of women, but also a large number of men.

Regardless of where they appear and at what age, these little red and blue veins ruin our beauty, and for this reason, we want to get rid of them at all costs.

Description of the procedure

The appearance of visible capillaries on the legs is more common in women and is genetically determined. In addition to genetic factors, the causes of the appearance of capillaries can be trauma, age, a tendency to rosacea, and environmental factors.

Prolonged sitting and standing, frequent wearing of high heels, pregnancy, and hormonal replacement or contraceptive therapy also contribute to the appearance of capillaries on the legs.

At the Bagatin Polyclinic , we can treat capillaries and veins up to 2 mm in diameter with laser.

What exactly does this refer to?

  • telangiectasias (tiny mesh-like clusters of red, blue and purple capillaries up to 1 mm in diameter)
  • Phlebectasia (dark blue veins measuring 1-1.5 mm in diameter)
  • reticular veins (light blue veins up to 2 mm in diameter)

All capillaries and veins can be removed, regardless of color, provided they are up to 2 mm in diameter. Smaller veins and capillaries disappear immediately, while larger diameter veins and capillaries take some time.

The Quanta System Duetto MT laser is most often intended to solve this problem.

In its work, it combines two laser wavelengths (Alexandrite 755 nm and ND:Yag 1064 nm) or the so-called “mixing technology”, which provides greater efficiency in treatment, as well as greater comfort of treatment.

The laser device has an integrated skin cooling system that provides a more comfortable experience during and after the treatment.

Also, a great advantage of the laser is that fewer treatments are needed to achieve the final result and that it offers the possibility of treating extremely small capillaries to reticular veins up to 2 mm in diameter.

When it comes to facial manifestations, i.e. capillaries, facial redness, couperose and rosacea, we use the yellow laser QuadroStarPRO , from Asclepion Laser Technologies, which today represents the most modern technology and the best choice. Treatments for removing redness and capillaries on the face in our Polyclinic guarantee clients minimal risk and gentle and painless treatments, and the results are extraordinary.

Details about these laser treatments, as well as the entire offer of our laser treatments, can be found in a specially created Guide that you can download from the link below.

Candidates

If you have a healthy venous system, but are bothered by visible veins and capillaries on your body every day, you are a candidate for laser removal with a yellow laser.

You are not a candidate if you have any of the vein diseases – only aesthetically undesirable veins and capillaries are removed.

Before each treatment, our dermatologists will examine you to see if you are an adequate candidate.

Preparation

Before each laser treatment at the Bagatin Polyclinic, it is necessary to take care of the following things:

  • the skin must not be tanned
  • It is necessary to warn your specialist about the medications you are using (including those without a prescription)
  • The skin must be clean, without any cosmetics applied.

Procedure progress

Protective goggles are placed over the eyes before treatment.

A gel is applied to the area to be treated and the laser is used to individually pass through each capillary along its entire length.

The client may feel mild discomfort and burning, for which anesthesia is usually not necessary.

The laser also has a cooling attachment and simultaneously cools the treated area during the treatment. With cooling, the treatment is better tolerated.

The duration of treatment depends on the size of the area being treated.

The Bagatin Polyclinic offers as many as 9 lasers of different specifications and capabilities , which can treat almost all aesthetic problems.

Recovery

Recovery takes 6 months to a year.

Depending on the size of the area being treated, redness and a change in the color of the capillaries and veins to dark blue or black may occur, and small bruises may also appear.

Slight swelling of the skin above the treated area is also possible.

The laser thermally closes the capillaries, followed by a process of breaking down the closed capillaries. If a larger number of veins and capillaries were removed during the treatment, it takes a longer period of time for the skin to break them down.

For this reason, laser removal of veins and capillaries is recommended to be done in winter, so that the skin has time to recover by summer.

Most often, 4 treatments are performed in a row, one treatment per month.

For the first 10 days after treatment, anti-inflammatory care is applied to the treated area. Exercise or sports are not recommended, only light walking is allowed.

After 10 days, you can engage in sports. Avoid body treatments, saunas, massages, and anything that could damage the skin and slow down the recovery process.

Precautions

The most common side effects of laser vein and capillary removal are:

  • Discomfort, redness and discoloration of the skin ; discoloration of capillaries and veins to dark blue or black and possibly the appearance of small bruises. Changes disappear within a month to a year (in the case of reticular veins)
  • Pigmentation changes, more specifically, skin pigmentation above the treated capillary . Laser removal of veins and capillaries can darken or lighten the treated skin, which is in most cases temporary. Brown pigmentation may appear after treatment, which, once the capillaries have disappeared, can be removed with a skin lightening cream.

To minimize potential side effects, anti-inflammatory care is applied to the treated area 10 days after treatment.

After treatment, direct exposure to the sun should be avoided until the changes caused by the treatment have completely disappeared, as have the capillaries themselves.

Frequently asked questions

What is laser removal of capillaries and veins?

This is a non-invasive medical-aesthetic method that uses a laser beam to close and remove dilated capillaries and smaller superficial veins, without the need for incisions or needles.

How does the laser affect capillaries?

The laser precisely targets hemoglobin in the blood, heating the vein wall and causing it to close. The body then naturally breaks down the closed vein over the following weeks.

What changes can be treated?

  • Dilated capillaries (on the face, legs, décolleté)

  • Smaller superficial veins (so-called “spider” veins)

  • Facial redness and rosacea (in some cases)

  • Hemangiomas and other vascular changes

Is the result permanent?

Removed capillaries do not return, but new ones may form over time. Regular care, sun avoidance, and a healthy lifestyle help maintain results.
